I have lived in Beeston most of my life, and know the community well. I have four children who attend local schools two of which are in High school. I am also a Trustee at a local Women’s Centre. I have worked at Greenmount since 2000 in various roles, currently I am a Family Support Worker.
What brought you to Greenmount:
Greenmount is a vibrant place to be. The school is very popular with the local community and is oversubscribed. Greenmount is like a hub for the community.
What you like about being a Governor:
Being a governor enables me to make a contribution and to share ideas. To see how our school improvement plan helps our children to progress well and for them to reach their full potential.
Your thoughts about Greenmount:
At Greenmount pupils look forward to coming to school, they engage well with their peers and teachers. High expectations are set for them. Parent and carers play an important part in school life and their contribution and feedback has always been welcomed.
What you believe the school vision to be:
This is an exciting time for Greenmount for pupils to continue to grow in confidence, independence, achieve high goals and expectations. To be respectful towards others and to be the best they can be.
Supporting charity events, fundraising and getting involved with local activities and projects.
Is this good enough or should I add a bit more – not good at selling myself!
My name is Safeena Koshar. I have recently been appointed as a Parent Governor for Greenmount Primary.
I live locally, therefore understand the pressures and challenges that face the local community and recognise the importance of children receiving a good education to improve future life prospects.
I am a mother of three; my children have attended Greenmount primary and my youngest daughter still attends Greenmount. In my professional life I work as a solicitor specialising in child protection and I am a team manager.
I want to use my skills to ensure Greenmount Primary provides a safe environment for the children and delivers excellence in education and positive opportunities and experiences in all aspects of school life to ensure that children can reach their full potential.
