KS1 Maths – Numbots

Pupils should play 3 times a week for at least 5 minutes (but can play for longer). Numbots  help children to  recall and build fluency in mental addition and subtraction, so that they move from counting to calculating.

REMEMBER: Passwords are private and children should not be sharing them or using others’ accounts.

 Spelling

Please help your child to learn their weekly spellings that we send home every Friday. Children will also be practising these ‘little and often’ at school and teachers will be testing them on the following Friday and also checking that they spell them correctly within their work.

KS2 Maths – Times Table Rock Stars

Pupils should play 3 times a week for at least 5 minutes (but can play for longer). TTRS helps children to rapidly recall multiplication facts up to 12 x12. The program is carefully sequenced so that pupils become proficient in x2,x5,x10 before moving onto the  harder times tables.

REMEMBER: Passwords are private and children should not be sharing them or using others’ accounts.

Reading

Please encourage your child to read their reading book for 5-10 minutes every day.  They are reading their books at school and completing quizzes to test their understanding of what they have read so they must remember to bring their books back to school every day.

Knowledge Mats

All children will bring home a knowledge mat each half term to share the key facts and vocabulary they will be learning in their History and Geography lessons. Please talk to your child about their learning and see what they can remember. We will also suggest books that may be useful to look at together.
